1d10 Dying Curses

Only hold weight when the dying knows their killer or would be remembered by history. Most will only curse those who have broken trust with them. Christians will often word these as a prayer to God not to the party itself. Curses are laid on a specific character.

  1. May you know the bite of your blade as you have made me know it - The Next time you roll a natural 1 on an attack roll. Deal that much damage to yourself instead
  2. May the roots of the trees reach up and break your ankles and may your comrades leave you to be eaten by animals -You have disadvantage on Dodge Saves while in forested areas
  3. May all your crops lay barren, and mice leave your larder with an empty stomach-Never find food when scrounging and all rations spoil at the end of each session.
  4. May your enemies always find you and you never find rest - Enemies always succeed on their first attempt to pursue. If the character rests while they are still hunted the enemy will always locate them)
  5. May your coffers be empty and all know of your deceitful ways - If attempting to make a deal all partners have an uneasy feeling about dealing with the cursed
  6. May the sea take you and your eyes be the food of eels - Autofail your next capsize check.
  7. May the sun burn your flesh and water scald your tongue - in dry climates you never find drinkable water away from rivers. You need twice as much water.
  8. May the frost blacken your fingers and take your nose- anytime this PC spends a night outdoor in freezing temperatures without proper warm clothing and fire roll 1d4 and they lose the following to frost 1. 1d4 fingers 2. 1d4 toes 3. An ear 4. Their nose
  9. May The Dark surround you and you never find comfort in its presence - this character always notices something when on watch in the dark. Usually nothing but The Dark is there.
  10. May your ship spring leaks and rats eat at your sails- Any time this character’s ship rolls a sinking check roll it with disadvantage.
