Making a point to be a Player
I have been making a point to play in games recently as a player and not as a GM because I have been feeling burnt out. So recently I have been playing in Eric Vulgaris's excellent Halls of Arden Vulgaris campaign using The Halls of Arden Vul and a hacked version of Shadowdark. It has been a fun change going back to classes and higher powered PCs and going at situations in the dark has been fun. I recommend every GM make a point of being a player at times. It helps you stay in touch with what is fun for everyone at the table and see how other excellent GMs would run the same situation as you.
You may find things you would do differently or you may become more secure in the why you handle things the way you do. Both are excellent outcomes.
